Last week saw the final piece of business for the 2024/25 season, the ESSMBA AGM. It was held at Horum BC and well attended by members and clubs. Several clubs and members were unable to attend and sent their apologies.
Key reports were read out including the chairman’s report, ICC report as well as national and internal competition reports. It was acknowledged that this was a particularly successful season for our county.
The election of officers took place, remaining mostly the same as this season with the exception of the ICC team manager and the nationals secretary.
Mandy Moore stood down after many years of running the county side. She was presented with a gift from the county team players in appreciation of her hard work and dedication. Edward Law was voted in as the new manager for the ICC team, known as the East Sussex Arrows for the coming season.
Peter Winter stood down as the nationals secretary and at present WE DO NOT HAVE ANYONE IN THE POSITION. This is a vital role as if not fulfilled then we will be unable to participate at next seasons national finals. Should anyone want to take on this vital role then please contact the ESSMBA Hon. Secretary (Mandy Moore) ASAP.
Finally, at the end of the meeting ESSMBA chairman Graham Keeley presented three members if the county life memberships. Chris Escott, Peter Shoesmith MBE and Val Shoesmith were awarded this prestigious honour for their dedication to county and short mat bowls.
