ESSMBA Singles Qualifying

The qualifying for the ESSMBA singles takes place this coming weekend on Saturday 25th November and is being held at Grovelands primary school in Hailsham. Entries have now closed and the draw has been completed. Club contacts and players have been sent the playing order for the day. Playing order is alos available below.

There will be two sessions. The morning session check in time will be 8.30am, the afternoon session 11.30am. The cost will be £9.00 per person per discipline, which includes tea/coffee and biscuits. This should be paid on the qualifying day. This payment covers players for the singles qualifying and finals weekend. Players are asked to assist in setting up and packing away equipment. Also, please bring a mug/cup for tea and coffee.

There are the 34 entries in the competition this year (6 up on last year) and the top two in each of the 8 groups will go forward to the Main competition with the remaining players in both morning and afternoon sessions will go forward to the Plate competition.  The next round for both competitions is on the Saturday of the Finals weekend, 28th March 2026.

Each of the 51 games to be played will require a marker so players are asked to mark when required to ensure the day goes smoothly and is completed in a timely manner. Players are also asked NOT to wear the county team shirt and instead to wear club or neutral shirts, with BLACK trousers below the waist.

Last years competition saw a tight final between Edward Law and Mark Thomson that for the second year running saw it go to an extra end after ending a draw and with Edward Law emerging the winner in another thrilling final.
